Aadhaar is nothing but a 12-digit unique identification number which is also referred as UDI and the same was issued by to government of India to every Indian residence. UDAI (The Unique-Identification-Authority of India) works under the Planning-Commission-of-India, who is accountable for handling Aadhaar identification cards and Aadhaar numbers. An Indian resident can apply for his/her Aadhaar card and number simply by providing the current identity proofs such as driving license, PAN card, or passport and address proofs such as bank statements, electricity bill or phone bill and by going through biometric profiling like iris scan and fingerprints at any valid Aadhaar center.
